Rep. Maxine Waters, one of the “mouth-runners” of the anti-Trump resistance in Congress just got caught up in a massive scandal and facing fresh questions about the controversy concerning how she raised money for her campaign and how the funds got to her daughter.
Maxine Waters has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars each election cycle from some of her state’s biggest politicians.
Since the early 2000’s, there has been payments from the campaign summing up to a whooping amount of $750,000 to Maxine Water’s daughter, Karen Waters. In July, a government watchdog filed two complaints
with the Federal Election Commission requesting for a full judicial examination of the citizens for Waters campaign donations.
The first complaint filed stated that Waters broke federal campaign finance law. Maxine Waters has been in the news lately because of her so called calls to impeach President Trump and for statements inciting violent confrontation on President Trump’s cabinet members.
Maxine Waters, before her political break through has mastered the rare form of fund raising in slate mailers. Top Californian politicians and local office seekers have given more than the legal contribution limits to Water’s campaign to be in her slate’s endorsed candidate. This practice waters introduced was approved by FEC  in 2004. Karen Waters and other firms were then paid by the campaign to produce, print and mail the sample ballots.
According to FEC complaints filed on the 25th of July which stated that the Democratic party paid $35,000 to the Waters campaign in 2016 to include the endorsement of Harris’ senate candidacy on the mailer.
To counter the payment action made, campaign finance reports in October disputes by stating that third party is not legally allowed to pay for the mailer of a candidate without a compensation under the 2014 FEC advisory opinion.
In 2016, a separate report shows that the Harris campaign paid $300,000 to the Water’s Campaign which also violates campaign finance limits. For the 2018 election cycle, FEC data also shows, as of July 28, that Democrat Gavin Newsom,s gubernatorial campaign paid $27,000 to waters’ re-election campaign to be in the mailers.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein also made a payment of $27,000 this year and has the Waters endorsement. Candidates for state assembly, sheriff and judges paid between $2,000 and $12,000 to citizens for Waters to be included in the mailers.
“If you don’t pay to be her slate, then maybe you’re one of Trump’s people,” a source told Fox News. “A local politician like a judge doesn’t wants to be on Waters bad side,” he added.

My love for politics is unusual because I don't love it for the same reasons a lot of people do. I love politics because it challenges me. For me, being involved in politics isn't about having an opinion about every issue. It is about learning both sides of each issue and being fascinated by them. There are very few political issues that I have strong opinions on. The rest I either have yet to educate myself on or I understand both sides and have yet to choose which one I agree with.
