|Barack Obama and John Brennan
With Barr sending a shock wave through Washington by asserting “spying did occur” against the Trump campaign and enlisting U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead an investigation into the Russia inquiry’s earliest days, Brennan went on the defensive.
Former CIA Director John Brennan blasted President Donald Trump’s decision to grant his attorney general unfettered access to sensitive intelligence material about agency sources in Russia as an “outrageous move” and an “unprecedented act.”
Now there are calls for former CIA Chief John Brennan to be prosecuted for revealing the existence of a deep cover secret informant inside the Russian government.
Specifically, this informant was the U.S. intelligence community’s source in determining that Putin personally “ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election” to undermine Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in favor of Trump.
If this is the case & @JohnBrennan
revealed the existence of a deep cover clandestine source in Russia he can and should be prosecuted immediately for compromising the source & doing “grave damage” from the release of Top Secret information – this at minimum sedition https://t.co/5Fs1T9H9Fb

Word of this high-placed informant first came out in June 2017 in a Washington Post story that said Brennan began feeding material related to the investigation to Obama and a small group of aides with a report in an envelope to be read and promptly returned to the CIA.
