Micheal Ignatieff CEU President and Rector left, George Soros right |
It is a very sad week for the billionaire as nemesis is finally catching up with him. This came as a shock to Soros as Hungary makes one unexpected move to get rid of George Soros from their country by issuing an “arbitrary eviction” by Hungary’s government to the George Soros-Founded Central European University (CEU) forcing the school to move out of the country.
According to the school’s president and rector Micheal Ignatieff “CEU has been forced out, this is unprecedented. A U.S. institution has been driven out of a country that is NATO ally. A European institution has been ousted from a member of the EU.”
CEU’s president went on to say “Arbitrary Eviction of a reputable university is a flagrant violation of academic freedom. It is a dark day for Europe and a dark day for Hungary.”
This isn’t the first move by Hungary to kick Soros out. Earlier this year, Open Society Foundation which is Soros’ main funding network was also given the boot and forced to leave Hungary.
