In a new letter sent by the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein to the FBI, in the letter she said:
“I have received information from
an individual concerning the
nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to
the Supreme Court. The individual
strongly requested confidentiality,
declined to come forward or press
the matter further, and i have
honored that decision. I have,
however, referred the matter to
federal investigative authorities.”
Then CNN had this to say:
“The accuser who chose to remain
unnamed said: Kavanaugh attended
a party while in high school in the
1980’s and tried to force himself on
her.”
But Kavanaugh denied the accusation saying:
“I categorically and unequivocally
deny this allegation. I did not do
this back in high school or at anytime.”
Recently, a group of women who were close to Kavanaugh during the time the accuser claimed he forced himself on her, took it upon themselves to defend him. According to a letter sent by these women to the Senate Judiciary Committee:
“For the entire time we have known Brett
Kavanaugh, he has behaved honorably and
treated women with respect. We strongly
believe it is important to convey this
information to the committee at this time.”
They went on to say:
“Through the more than 35 years we have
known him, Brett has stood out for his
friendship, character and integrity. In
particular, he has always treated women
with decency and respect. That was true
when he was in school, and it has remained
true to this day.”
The timing of the accusation on kavanaugh was seriously criticized by the White House. According to White House Spokeswoman Kerri Kupec:
“No one ever raised any allegation against
Kavanaugh, not Feinstein nor any other
person until the eve of his confirmation.”
